Who We Are
     
Although SG Custom Sound (SGCS) existed on hand painted strips of masking tape when its founder, Scott Gramlich, was in Junior High School, the name was officially registered in 1992. Nestled in beautiful Douglaston manor for over 10 years, the shop is 2 ½ minutes from the Long Island Expressway, 2 minutes from the Cross Island Parkway and 30 yards from the Long Island Rail Road.

SGCS is a music lover's dream. Whether you're a musician, an audiophile or a person who just loves to sit back and hear good music, our versatility and unique approach provide an aesthetic musical experience. We provide highly individualized and personal service to each of our clients.

SGCS creates solutions to unconventional situations by building custom, one-of-a-kind pieces of audio equipment. Our products include pre-amps, cross-overs, switching boxes and of course our unique specialty, custom speaker sculptures. We also provide equipment repair, modification and installation services.
     

Who I Am


My personal mission is to create beauty in the world. This mission shows who I am at a core level. My first love—music—has become my avenue for fulfilling my mission...hence the creation and ongoing success of SG Custom Sound.

As a musician, I understand first hand my clients’ needs. During my 17 years of professional experience in the audio-electronics world, I have supported both professional and amateur musicians, recording studios, businesses and individuals in their homes.
       

Where We Are

From the west:

  • LIE east to Cross Island Pkwy. north to Northern Blvd. east.
  • At the third light, turn left onto Douglaston Pkwy.
  • Two blocks north, bear right at fork, after stop sign, continue on Douglaston Pkwy.
  • Another two blocks, turn sharp left at second stop sign onto 235th street.
  • Half way down the block our store front is on the left at 40-33.
 

From the east:

  • LIE west to exit 32. Continue on service road and turn right onto Douglaston Pkwy.
  • Cross over Northern Blvd.
  • Two more blocks north, bear right at fork, after stop sign, continue on Douglaston Pkwy.
  • Another two blocks, turn sharp left at second stop sign onto 235th street.
  • Half way down the block our store front is on the left at 40-33.
 

From the south:

  • Belt Pkwy north to Cross Island Pkwy north to Northern Blvd. east.
  • At the third light, turn left onto Douglaston Pkwy.
  • Two blocks north, bear right at fork, after stop sign, continue on Douglaston Pkwy.
  • Another two blocks, turn sharp left at second stop sign onto 235th street.
  • Half way down the block our store front is on the left at 40-33.
    

From the north:

  • Throgs Neck Bridge to Cross Island Pkwy. south to Northern Blvd. east.
  • At the third light, turn left onto Douglaston Pkwy.
  • Two blocks north, bear right at fork, after stop sign, continue on Douglaston Pkwy.
  • Another two blocks, turn sharp left at second stop sign onto 235th street.
  • Half way down the block our store front is on the left at 40-33.
